The HIPAA Security Standards require medical providers that electronically maintain and/or transmit health information pertaining to an individual to have a written data backup plan as part of a more comprehensive contingency plan.

 For a small fee Backup Solutions will prepare a written plan that details procedures involving data backup and restore.

 Backup Solutions will agree to “chain of trust” terms required for sharing data with third parties, protecting patients’ data in accordance with requirements of HIPAA.
